The 435 Bathroom Pod North Terrace Student Accommodation project for Urbanest holds significant importance, being the first project to travel through Interpod’s brand-new purpose built facility.

Project Completion Date: December 2017 Total Bathroom Pods: 435

Urbanest, a leading Student Accommodation provider, has worked alongside Interpod on a number of projects, so when the demand for additional Student Housing in Adelaide arose, Interpod was the first point of call to deliver quality-managed pods for their new North Terrace development.

According to Adelaide Now, Urbanest chief executive officer Bub Nickel expects the new student community, based on North Terrace opposite the university, will raise the bar for living standards.

Interpod and Urbanest have collaborated closely on the design for bathroom pods and have achieved a standard layout that is used across multiple projects. Pre-project design work has provided Urbanest with significant cost savings, time reduction in the planning phase and a very streamlined build time, since there are no delays in the production setup.

Full steam ahead in the Pod space:

Built Environs, a local South Australian construction firm, was appointed to complete the build. In order to streamline the project, Interpod Bathroom Pods were installed in the building at night. Instead of up to 10 trades normally working on 1 bathroom, the Pods only needed 2 team members to roll in, position and connect the pods – innovation at its finest!

Streamlined design creates streamlined install:

In addition to the 2 bathroom pod designs, Interpod also delivered  Large Toilet cubicles, consisting of 3 toilets in each cubicle, cleverly positioned in the hallway area of the building.

1 Bathroom Pod type was manufactured ahead of Built Environs site schedule, whilst the 2nd Bathroom Pod design was fabricated directly in line with the build time frames. Once manufactured, all Pods were securely wrapped and held in storage, ready for Built Environs to access at their leisure.
