Located in Sydney’s $13 billion Green Square Urban Regeneration Area, the Folkestone Hotel is a clear example of Interpod’s proven ability to bring certainty to our partners.

The 144-room hotel project sits on O’Riordan Street in Alexandria, a mere 100m from the Green Square Train Station and within close proximity to Sydney Airport and an array of trendy cafes, restaurants and bars.

With a strict construction schedule at hand, the Folkestone Group and their partners have engaged Interpod to bring much-needed certainty to this significant project. Construction commenced in 2017 with an aggressive schedule set to meet a September 2019 deadline.

The decision to use the elegant and hygienic Astron Designer Panels  as a part of this project, elevates the bathrooms to a new level by removing tiles and grout, making them mould-free and looking beautiful with minimal maintenance. The strong and durable nature of Astron’s design means that is completely impervious to water and is exceptionally stain and scratch-resistant – a perfect solution for a large hotel project.

The $44 million hotel will be operated by Veriu Hotels and Suites, a subsidiary of project partner Furnished Property.

CHALLENGES:

A tight completion schedule and multiple stakeholders meant that certainty was a key concern for this project.

SOLUTION:

By engaging Interpod early in the timeline, Folkestone and their partners were able to mitigate the risk involved in the often costly and time-consuming bathroom element of the hotel’s construction.
